Utah Drug Rehab Information
The mission of Prevention Dimensions, which was started in the
early 1980s, is to provide a strong foundation of effective violence and
substance abuse prevention strategies in Utah Schools. Teachers receive
effective prevention resources and a positive prevention attitude they can
implement in the classroom. The foundation of this prevention strategy has been
enhanced and updated based on current research in effective school-based
prevention.
As of April 16, 2007, there were 35 drug courts in operation or
being planned in Utah. Twenty-eight drug courts had been in operation for at
least two years, 4 drug courts had recently been implemented and 3 drug courts
were being planned. About three-quarters of the Federally-sentenced drug cases
in Utah involved methamphetamine.
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) reported 184 drug
violation arrests in Utah during 2007. During full year 2006, there were 880
juvenile and 3,128 adult arrests for marijuana possession in Utah.
