Kentucky Drug Rehab Information

The mission of the Kentucky Office of Drug Control Policy is to reduce drug use, drug related crime and to support recovery from drug abuse. Programs under ODCP include: Champions for a Drug-Free Kentucky, which promotes the prevention of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs; and the Student Drug Testing Advisory Council, which provides parents and educators with the means to determine if student drug testing is an appropriate response to the drug threat in their schools and communities.

As of April 16, 2007, there were 48 drug courts in Kentucky that had operating for at least two years, 4 that had recently been implemented and 6 that were being planned. Approximately one-fourth of Federal drug cases involved methamphetamine.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) reported 364 drug violation arrests in Kentucky during 2007. During 2006, there were more than 56,000 arrests for drug abuse violations in Kentucky.
